Aight, so it's time for a new blog. At the moment I really absolutely don't have any idea what to write. If it comes to producing or writing tracks, I never have a lack of inspiration. I always start with something. It could be kick, a bloody bass line, a chord that I love or just a particular sample. If the first step is taken then the second one comes and in the end when I open my eyes, or ears if you prefer, I have the tune. Most of the time I work like that. I just start with something. It's the same with painting, you start with something. The first stroke, the rest comes naturally. F@ck, I was writing a blog, right? What subject?? I think we have a subject. it's creating! Creating is divine! Like a tree or a lil child. It grows naturally. What's life about? I think, it's about two things. It's about growing and / or multiplying. I like girls, but at the moment I don't want kids. I like kids but my kids are my tunes. And they also grow automatically. At least, I hope so.. If u hear one for the first time and then the second time. It will be different. It's the same thing when u hear a piece of music that is repeating. It could be exactly the same piece but the second time it will be different. But what is then the difference? Probably the first time you hear it, your brain doesn't know it. But the second time, your brain knows what's gonna come. That's an interesting fact. Music is dependent of time. I will come back at this topic later, it's interesting. So tunes can grow. At least I hope so.. When I heard Radiohead for the first time, I thought WTF? Same thing for Burial. After a couple of weeks I understood the tracks. They grow.. They are getting multiplied by remixers and shared by others and they grow further. They are trees that grow to the sky. The sky is the limit. Same thing for creativity. It's an infinite source that always will exist, even when you don't know what to write.. Jssst P.S. I don't want to compare my tracks with Burial and Radiohead. Actually I want to do that, but it's impossible. Alright, If Radiohead is a huge tree, then I am a fucking Bonzai. True minimal;-) Haha:-) But tiny trees can grow to the sky.. <3

DJ So, I wanted to be a DJ. But when can you call yourself a DJ? Is it possible to call 'yourself' a DJ? I really don't know but I call myself a DJ, since a couple of weeks. Why? Cause I've had my very first gig for an audience. And that was.. Amazing!! ;-) It wasn't in a club, neither a bar. It was 4 internet radio but live! And that was pretty cool. DJing rocks!! Jouk from XT3-radio invited me to do a set, so I did. Very cool!! Thanks bud:-) DJing is really a cool thing to do. It's so much fun and interesting as well. Last couple of years I mainly focussed on producing, but now I'm also into DJing. Ten years ago I started doing that in my bedroom, but I didn't take it that seriously. Now, I do. I have to, cause bills has to be payed. Via this way is magnificient and I hope that it will work out well. I'm looking for a small club to play on a regular basis and hope to do some gigs as well at different places, this summer. But if you want to make a living out of it, DJing is much more than only playing records. You really got breath music all day and night besides all the other things. But, I love it. Aight, I'm gonna practise more and more and will search 4 the greatest and smallest (cool!) tunes around the globe. And will keep in touch with you via the internet or some day in real life.. <3 Jssst I want to tell you something about Relativity Theory. It isn't about Physics, but of course... Music!. Cause Music Is The Answer ;-) Music is relative!! More general, everything is relative. I mean you could see/hear things relative to other things. Nothing is good/bad or beautiful/ugly. Some ugly things could be beautiful as well, relative to other things. A good example are two songs. If u play them in the right order, then both tunes are good. If it's not the right order, you could experience that the second track isn't good. Djing is an underrated form of Art. A good DJ mixes well, plays the right tracks and last but not least in the right order. Basically, if a DJ set equals the melody then the record equals the notes. U understand? I'll give you an overview: A Melody consists of notes. A sample consists of melodies (Or a sample is one melody:-). A Tune consists of samples. A DJ set consists of tunes. People will appreciate a good melody. Same thing for a sample (Actually, melody and sample could be equal:-). A good track with a stolen sample won't be appreciated. Why not? A DJ is nothing more than some Disc Jockey who plays tracks from other people... In my opinion DJing is Art!! I guess that after reading this story, you will appreciate a DJ more than without this knowledge. So your knowledge is relative, too. Your respect to people, depends of knowing them. Never judge someone if you don't know him/her. Have a conversation, you could find gold :-) I'm out and do respect you for knowing me a lil bit better, Joost P.S Here an example of two 'great' songs in the wrong order... :-) |
